Wesley Snipes Sentenced to 3 Years in Jail

The taxman threw the hatchet at actor Wesley Snipes.  Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for willfully failing to file his tax returns for the years 1999 through 2001.

This is when it truly sucks to be famous…Judge William T. Hodges sentenced Snipes with the maximum sentence, stating that it was important to create a deterrent against tax defiance.

"I am very sorry for my mistakes and errors. This will never happen again." Says Snipes.

Prosecutors claim Snipes brought in over $38 million since 1999 and didn’t pay taxes or file for any of it before last Thursday.

The judge accused Snipes of making a “grandstanding move” when during the courts recess Snipes legal team gave an IRS agent checks totaling $5 million.  The judge and prosecutor refused the payment.

Snipes said he epitomized the phrase “Mo Money, Mo’ Problems.

Snipes legal team plans to appeal but Uncle Sam and his prosecutors intend to deny any request that would allow him to stay out of the big house while any appeal is pending.

Miley Cyrus Gets Seven Figure Book Deal

The so called Sketchy photos didn't hurt Miley Cyrus' rep any.

This super tween star just signed a seven figure book deal with the Disney Book Group.

Apparantly, Miley's book is going to be about her life from simple country girl to her rise as an international star and household name and how her family kept her grounded.

Cyrus told People,

“I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me. I hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together, and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams.”

Of course the book will be filled with new and never before seen photos.  I mean they have to fill it with content somehow.

Miley's book is set to be published in Spring of 2009 and will be launched along side of her new Hannah Montana movie.
