The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) has a Celebrity Entertainment Program designed to lift the spirits of those who have been injured and who are in the hospital, still recovering from their injuries.

Two of the players, fullback Jason McKie and running back Adrian Peterson, visited the North Chicago VA Medical Center on the eleventh to show their support and respect for those people who fight for our country. A lot of these hospitalized veterans rarely get any visitors, and having someone come to see them, especially a celebrity like a star football player, can make them feel as though there are people out there who really do care about them, and who recognize and appreciate what they have done for their country.
Many of these people will carry their scars all of their lives, and now they can carry this good memory, as well.
