Divorces are generally the consequence of marriage between two celebrities, almost without exception. Many young celebrity divorcees were teenagers or in their early 20's when they were married for the first time--Avril Lavigne, Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, for example. All ended up suffering highly publicized divorces that left them fodder for the gossip rags. Being hot, young and divorced also means their dating habits were intensely scrutinized by the public, causing wild speculations about who would be part of their next ill-fated marriage. But why do these young celebrities choose to marry when all around them they can see other Hollywood couples divorcing almost as soon as the ink is dry on their marriage certificates? Do they think they are immune to the pressures of living a decadent and chaotic lifestyle full of beautiful, superficial people who fail to think of the consequences of their actions?
Research into the celebrity psyche has clearly shown that many celebrities have at least a touch of narcissism fueling their personalities, with some exhibiting full-blown narcissistic tendencies. While narcissistic people are usually exciting, charismatic and exude confidence which naturally attracts others, their success in relationships tends to be minimal, to say the least. Since narcissists view themselves as the cream of the crop when it comes to the human race, they think they have the "right" to behave in ways most others do not condone. This includes, infidelity, crass materialism, dishonesty, and both emotional and physical belligerence towards others. In addition, attractive, young female celebrities have yet to work out identity issues that all adolescents experience, mainly because of the fact they are celebrities. Marrying young often is a way for twenty-something celebrities to validate and identify with a vaguely constructed sense of self.
When two narcissistic egos are married, it is generally based on a mutual need for reinforcement of each other's perceived "uniqueness". The idea that somebody as equally famous and wealthy wants to spend the rest of their life with them is too much for a narcissist to reject so marriage vows are exchanged and the nightmare begins. Unfortunately, neither spouse is aware of their own relationship-destructive behaviors so neither spouse even remotely considers their own self-interest is ruining their marriage. Those hot, young and divorced Hollywood celebrities that many young people idolize are in actuality living in a hellish world where things like status, appearance and deceit are valued over self-worth.
Most of the young celebrity divorcees and their ex-husbands will go on to experience more marriages and they will need to get a good divorce lawyer. Only intense counseling and a sense of maturity that comes with age may help these unhappy individuals understand their narcissism and the emptiness of the Hollywood lifestyle.

For some time there has been speculation that Madonna and Guy Ritchie were on the rocks. The tabloids were talking, and the pair kept insisting that everything was fine.
Now, though, they admit that they are divorcing. That may be old news to some, but what's not old are the 'he said, she said' stories that are all over the place. According to most of those, Madonna is a diva who only cares about herself. Guy reportedly told her that she was old, fat, ugly, stupid and couldn't sing. She allegedly told him that she should have married someone more like herself – someone who was spiritual, intelligent and attractive, etc.
Whether any of these things are true is anyone's guess, and whether it's true that Madonna has been abusive and slapped Guy before is also not proven. One thing that is for sure, though, is that this doesn't sound like they are headed for an amicable divorce, and the pair will probably continue to make a lot of headlines for a very long time.

Well, maybe. Kattan filed for a legal separation, which is not the same as a divorce, so it leaves the door open for reconciliation between him and his model-wife, Sunshine Tutt. They were married on June 28th and only lived together for about a month.
For now, they clearly plan to live apart from one another and live separate lives. They have no children together, but they do have a prenuptial agreement.
The couple were engaged on Christmas Eve of 2006 after meeting at a birthday party in 2005. There were no immediate plans for divorce and no word on whether the couple is working on reconciling or why they might have split up so quickly.
